I finally got the chance to view Part 3 of “The Weight of the Nation”… well, most of Part 3. I missed the last 10 minutes when my server connection froze. After multiple attempts to reconnect, I decided to hang it up – I think I saw enough of it to render an opinion, anyway

I haven’t written much about the Dukan Diet, primarily because it’s a hybrid of the old Stillman and Atkins diets. In other words, it’s not very original. I imagine it works, just as its predecessors did.

As yesterday’s post suggests, I was pretty appalled by the removal of an obese third-grader from his home by Cuyahoga County officials. IMHO, there are better ways to help a child like him than tearing his family apart

So much for good intentions… Is pizza with tomato sauce a vegetable? Apparently yes, according to Congress, which on Monday blocked legislation that would have made school lunches healthier. In their final version of a spending bill that includes planning for the $11 billion National School Lunch Program, House and Senate committee members blocked or

This New York Times article about school soda bans made me heave a long, deep sigh… State laws that ban soda in schools — but not other sweetened beverages — have virtually no impact on the amount of sugary drinks middle school students buy and consume at school, a new study shows.
